Editing the Grove park and kebab shop footage
Today and for the rest of the week, we are planning on spending a lot of time editing together the Grove park and kebab shop footage together, alongside the Brighton footage we already had. We have already got quite a lot of the editing done, however the stopframe photographs are going to take quite a while to put together it seems.

Filming in Grove Park and a kebab shop
On Wednesday 19th October, we went to a local park to film some more footage with Sam and Lucy. Again, we brought a video camera, SLR camera and a tripod. We made a lot of use out of the SLR camera as we took a lot of photos, that we are planing on using to create stop frame effects within the video. We aimed to really try to capture both the characters personalities within these areas, as we felt quite a lot of the music video was going to be set in the park and kebab shop.
We started filming in the park, specifically on the swings. We believed this would put across the fun side of both their personalities, and also the fact that they are still relatively young. We did quite a lot of really effective stop frame photos in the park too. We took photos of both characters, moving up and down their body, and also putting on their coats etc. One of my favourite stop frame moments, is where Lucy is standing in the middle of the path, and Sam walks by, looking at her bum whilst her passes. These shots are really good in showing both personalities.
Later on in the day, we filmed the kebab shop scene. This involed again more stop motion pictures, but also quite a bit of filming too with the normal video camera. Again, the owners of the shop were really kind in featuring in the video, and letting us use their shop. Looking at the footage we have gained, we will have to go back to the kebab shop to get some more footage, because of the fact that we forgot to shoot a few esential lines in there.

The departure of Charlie Holt
Due to unforseen circumstances, Charlie Holt is no longer able to be a member of our media group. Not only will this take away a whole persons work from this group, but it will also take away the use of one of our locations- his nan's pub. Although we already have footage in a pub, being able to do what we wanted in his nan's pub gave us many options to put across Sam and Lucy's personality in a fun way, especially when they are drunk. We are currently re-storyboarding the parts of the video we have consequently lost.

Adding effects to the Brighton footage
Today, added a few effects to the footage we had taken. We used the colour correction tool on the footage where Sam is sitting on the beach to make the Sun look brighter than it was anyways. We wanted a "perfect day" sort of look on these clips to add a really happy mood. We also added the ending to the music video today. It was just a clip where the camera is spinning around on the pier, however adding an effect called stop motion blur, made it look like the person spinning was drunk. As that person is Sam, it works really well because throughout the music video he is drinking alcohol.

Editing the Brighton footage
Today, we all spent a lot of time editing together the Brighton footage together. As we had taken loads of footage, we filled up as much as the song as possible on the timeline with footage, (even the parts we have storyboarded for), just incase we found a really effective piece of footage that works well with a certain bit of the song. We would later edit the excess parts out, and put in future footage that we will get and storyboarded for.
I noticed that the footage on the pier had really good and effective lighting. The sun was shining towards the camera lens, creating glistening in the footage. It came and went as Sam's head passed over it.

Filming in Brighton
On the 5th of October, myself, Jack Morris, Jack Hargreave, Sam Dempster and Lucy Hyner went to Brighton to begin our filming. We brought a video camera for the main bulk of the filming, a SLR camera for creating depth of field and stop motion effects, and a tripod. We aimed to get shots of Sam and Lucy in a pub, on the beach, on the pier, and possibly in and around the lanes.
The shots within the pub was really successful. The landlady was really generous, and let us have all the space and time we needed as it wasn't too busy as the time. She also offered to feature in the music video, which was perfect as there is a line in the song which reads "We cannot have that behavior in this establishment".
We felt that the shots we filmed on the beach, we slightly too soppy to include in the music video. This is because we had the two actors walking down the beach hand in hand for the later part of the video, however comparing the shots with the style of the video, it didn't fit at all, as the song was a lot more upbeat and fun.
On Brighton pier we got some really effective shots. I believe this was because we caught some really iconic landscapes in the background. This made it easy to relate the footage to the audience. One of the opening shots where Sam is singing on the pier is one of my favourite shots as the way he moves around the frame is so effective in getting his personality across to the audience.
